You got This!

I’m three weeks into my latest fitness challenge, and it feels different this time. My husband and I recently moved to Florida for a fresh start in our careers—and in our health. For the past 18 months, we poured our energy into making our franchise work, but in the process, our health took a back seat. Now, we’re taking it back.

For us, that means morning walks or bike rides, yoga and stretching, pool workouts, and bodyweight strength training. I have a chronic hip issue from 30 years at a desk, so we’re easing in to avoid setbacks. My goal is to build strength—core, glutes, thighs, shoulders, back and arms. Everything is linked together so you can’t skip! Since my hip issue is from inflammation, not structural damage, I have the chance to heal it naturally. So, let’s do this!

Here’s something many people don’t realize: weight loss can also mean muscle loss. That’s why smart nutrition focuses on enough protein and regular resistance training. Balancing all of this at once can feel overwhelming, but that’s where I come in.

I’m not just talking from theory—I’m living it alongside you, with years of experience to help guide your journey. If you need support, I’m here.

Today is the Day

It all begins with an idea.

The day for what, you might be wondering? The day I officially begin my journey as a nutrition coach. This has been years in the making—ever since COVID, really. Five years of self-doubt, excuses, and a missed opportunity have led me here. I’ve always been a glass-half-full kind of girl, so instead of dwelling on the past, I’m stepping into this moment.

I’ve completed my National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Nutrition program, equipping myself with the tools to help you on your own journey. This builds on a personal wellness path that began way back in the 2nd grade. Now, after 45+ years of learning, I’m ready to share what I’ve discovered so you can answer the question: Why would I want a nutrition coach?

Because this is more than deciding what to eat or avoid. It’s more than decoding the latest fad diet. My role will be part educator, part mentor, part cheerleader, part motivator—and sometimes, your lifeline. Because the truth is, health isn’t optional. Age has a way of showing you the results of your decisions. You get one body and one life—so let’s make sure you live it fully, for as long as you can.

So… is today your day?
